Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

What happens if a service that is down is being monitored by both the NT_ServiceDown and Exchange_ServicesDown Knowledge Scripts?

Resolution

If the same service is being monitored by both the NT_ServiceDown and Exchange_ServicesDown Knowledge Scripts, the Knowledge Script (KS) that first detects the service is down will trigger an event and restart the service (if that option is specified).

Depending on how the Knowledge Scripts are scheduled, an event would be triggered from either the NT_ServiceDown KS or the Exchange_ServicesDown KS, whichever runs first.

If the attempt to restart the service is successful, no more events will be generated. If the option to restart the service is not set or if the attempt to restart is unsuccessful,  events will be triggered from both Knowledge Scripts.
