How do you un-hide powers in Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x?

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x

fix

Some of the powers in DRA 6.x have been hidden in DRA 7.x.  The reason is that DRA 7.x no longer allows sub-delegation of items under the Configuration or Policy node.  For example if you wish to delegate the ability for someone to be able to Set Cache Refresh Schedule in DRA 7.x, you would have to add that user to the DRA Configuration Admins Assistant Admin Group.  However this would allow that user the ability to modify any item under the Configuration node.  If you do wish to delegate for someone to be able to do something like Start an Account Cache Refresh, you could un-hide the power and then delegate this power to an Assistant Admin.  This would not show the configuration node in the 32 Bit GUI but you could then have the Assistant Admin run a script or CLI command to start a cache refresh.

To un-hide a power:

  1. Go to Start | Run.
  2. In the Open field type Regedit.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mission Critical Software\OnePoint\Administration\Data\Modules\Operations\PowerInfo\Powers.
  5. Find the GUID of the power by looking at the $McsNameValue when selecting each GUID. (For example: the power Set Cache Refresh Schedule has a GUID of {0D485670-92C8-4F42-9011-793285885281}.
  6. Change the $McsSysFlag value from 3 to 1. ( 3 is hidden, 1 is un-hidden)
