Situation

How do I compact the Local Repository on an agent machine?

Resolution

To compact the local repository on a machine running the AppManager agent: 

  1. Stop the NetIQ Client Resource MonitorService and the Netiq Client Communication Manager services on the local machine using the Services applet.
  2. From Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click Data Sources (ODBC).
  4. Click the System DSN tab, select Local Repository then click the Configure button
  5. Click Repair option 
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click on Local Repository DSN and select the Compact option.
  8. Select the format, 4.x version, and then select the name of the database, Local-repository.MDB. 
  9. Click OK and then Yes to replace the database.
  10. Restart the NetIQ Client Resource MonitorService and the Netiq Client Communication Manager services.
