Installation installs on the wrong drive, even if a different location is selected.

symptom
Cannot find  installation on the drive it was installed to.

symptom
Product  was uninstalled to place it on another drive but new installation keeps defaulting to the old drive no matter what is input. 

cause
The  previous installation was not fully removed or did not fully complete.  This caused a value to be set in the registry that points any installation to the set directory. 

fix

To resolve this problem follow the instructions below:

1. On the target machine go to Start | Run.
2. Type regedit in the Open  field and click Enter.
3. Drill down to the registry value: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NetIQ\Vigilent\agent
4. Locate the home value.
5. Right-click and delete this value.
6. Install your product in the new location.
