Situation

Error: 'Unable to create directory for job' displayed in the Operator Console.
No events or data are generated by the report jobs.

Resolution

In order to resolve this issue, please verify the following:

  • Verify the Reporting Agent Service account has permissions to access the storage for reports.
  • If using non-local storage, a Domain Admin account is required to write to a non-local hard drive.
  • Verify IIS settings allow the Reporting Agent Service to create the virtual folders for the reports.
  • Check the path used in the AMADMIN_SetReportsPath Knowledge Script to ensure the proper report path is being used.

Note: Changing the Service Account of the Reporting Agent requires both Agent Services to be restarted.



Cause

This error message is displayed if the service account running the Reporting Agent service does not have the proper permissions to generate the report and\or write the report to the hard disk of on the server where the reports are being stored.
