No, the AppManager Unix Agent cannot use NetBIOS names or the NetBIOS protocol when contacting the Management Server unless a third party application has been installed (i.e. Samba).  The Unix agent communicates with the Management Server using the following mechanism:

    1. /etc/hosts
    2. NIS
    3. DNS

Order of the previous resolution methods is determined in the file /etc/nsswitch.conf.
