symptom
When creating a group, the pre-Windows 2000 group name automatically populates with only the first 19 characters of the group name
cause
This is due to a GUI display issue.
fix
This issue is addressed in NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator version 7.0 SP1 Hotfix 40476.
Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) hotfix 40476 corrects two issues involving the display of pre- Windows 2000 group names:
- When viewing the Maximum Pre-Windows 2000 Name Length $GroupNameLengthPolicy policy property on a secondary DRA server, the field always displayed 15. This hotfix ensures the appropriate value displays correctly on secondary servers.
- When creating a group, the pre-Windows 2000 group name automatically populated with only the first 19 characters of the group name. Applying this hotfix ensures that the pre-Windows 2000 group name field populates with the full name typed into the group name field.
Note: This hotfix requires DRA version 7.0 SP1.
