Situation

How do I put a server or group of servers in Maintenance Mode?

Resolution

The following steps must be performed to put a server in Maintenance Mode:

  1. Launch AppManager Operator Console.
  2. In TreeView, right-click the computer you wish to put in maintenance mode.
  3. Select Maintenance Mode.

Currently, AppManager does not support putting server groups in Maintenance Mode. However, you can use the AMADMIN_SchedMaint Knowledge Script, found in the AMADMIN  tab, to do this with the following steps:

  1. Launch AppManager Operator Console.
  2. From the AMADMIN  tab, drag and drop the SchedMaint knowledge script to the Server Group you wish to put in Maintenance Mode.
  3. Select settings to use for that group of servers.
  4. Select OK.

The maintenance job will then start and stop at the scheduled times you have set.
