When viewing the maximum Pre-Windows 2000 Name Length property of the $GroupNameLengthPolicy policy on a secondary DRA server, the field always displays a value of 15.

cause
This is due to a GUI display issue.

fix

This issue is addressed in NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator version 7.0 SP1 Hotfix 40476.

Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) hotfix NETIQKB40476 corrects two issues involving the display of pre-Windows 2000 group names:

  1. When viewing the Maximum Pre-Windows 2000 Name Length $GroupNameLengthPolicy policy property on a secondary DRA server, the field always displayed 15. This hotfix ensures the appropriate value displays correctly on secondary servers.

  2. When creating a group, the pre-Windows 2000 group name automatically populated with only the first 19 characters of the group name. Applying this hotfix ensures that the pre-Windows 2000 group name field populates with the full name typed into the group name field.

Note: This Hotfix requires DRA version 7.0 SP1.

To download and install this hotfix:

  1. Run the DRA70001_Hotfix40476.msi file on each Client User Interface computer.

This hotfix modifies the NetIQ.DRA.Console.Accounts.dll and NetIQ.DRA.Console.Policy.dll files on the Client User Interface computers. By default, these files are located in the \Program Files\NetIQ\DRA folder.
