fix

No, custom checks cannot be included in task suites.  Custom checks should be added to Policy Templates.  To create custom tasks, please refer to the following:

Creating Your Own Security Checks

Vulnerability Manager provides hundreds of built-in security checks to ensure policy compliance. You can also create your own security checks for Windows or Unix to match your specific needs.

Custom checks are user-defined queries. Vulnerability Manager provides a wizard to guide you through the process of building your custom checks. These custom checks are flexible and tailored to meet your policies and regulations. You can also use custom checks to respond to more complex vulnerabilities.

Creating Custom Checks

Once you create a security check, you can save that check and include it in one or more policy templates. To display custom checks for a specific platform, you need to select the appropriate platforms in the Security Check Options window. To create a custom check, you need the New Security Check permission. For more information, see ?Managing Permissions? on page 93.

To create a custom check:

  1. In the tree pane, expand Security Knowledge.
  2. Expand Security Checks.
  3. Click My Checks.
  4. On the Actions menu, click New Security Check.
  5. Follow the instructions in the wizard until you have created the custom check.

.

note
Policy Templates are similar to the Security Checkup Templates from VSM 4.x
