The formula for database requirements is:

(1 kilobyte per policy   *   number of users )   +   XML policy and/or quiz size

Example 1:

3 policies for 10 users, with no quizzes or HTML documents   =   (3 policies   *   1 kilobyte per policy)   *   10 users   =   30 kilobytes

Quiz size varies from customer to customer.  NetIQ's sample database documents range from 10 to 74 kilobytes in size each; the average document size is 31 kilobytes.  Note:  No additional space is required within the database for imported policy documents, since they are stored on the local VigilEnt Policy Center server.

Example 2:

If 2 quizzes were added to the above example, the total size would be:

[(3 policies   *   1 kilobyte per policy)   *   10 users]   +   (2 quizzes   *   31 kilobytes each)   =   [30 kilobytes]   +   62 kilobytes   =   92 kilobytes
