symptom
Error: 'getobjectsafe failed' generated by Web Console when opening printers and services.
symptom
No print times are available for print jobs when you view a printer or service. An error is generated: 'getobjectsafe failed: [c00444a8] automation error'. All admins see this problem, including Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) Admins.
cause
The Web Console is not specifying a server when it goes to ask for the printer information. The Web Console does know which Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) server it should be talking to and it does not use this information in this case. That means that the ADSI provider uses server discovery to attempt to find a DRA server, which introduces the possibility that the server found will be different than the one DRA was just talking to. The Web Console is not specifying a server when it goes to ask for the printer information. The Web Console does know which DRA server it should be talking to, but it does not use this information in this case.
fix
This is corrected in Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) 7.5. To resolve this issue upgrade to the latest version of DRA.
