symptom
MST tranform files on software installation packages are dropped when migrating a Group Policy Object (GPO) in the Repository.

cause
This issue is the Repository Migration not migrating the MST file path attribute.  

fix

This is addressed in Group Policy Administrator (GPA) 4.0 Hotfix Q39875.

This hotfix corrects the following issues:

  • Explorer does not allow you to add forest if you do not have privileges to access the root domain of the forest.
  • GP Repository shows wrong reports for the gpos under categories which have an apostrophe (') in its name.
  • GP Repository migration drops the MST file path attribute of the software packages.
  • GP Repository does not allow you to add trusted domains to the GP Repository server Node.
  • GP Repository Export Proxy does not export GPOs to specified Domain Controllers.
  • GP Repository Export Proxy returns an ASP Script Error after successfully exporting the GPO.
  • GPA Report generates a blank report if the GPO has a local user sid configured in the security settings and the user exists on the computer running the report.
  • GPA Report drops the Restricted Groups settings if the user sid is not resolved to the user.
  • GPA Report completely drops any groups that it cannot resolve in the User Right Assignment section.
  • GP Repository Report shows wrong Domain name for migrated GPOs
  • GP Repository takes a long time to create a domain in the GP Repository if the Domain Security Filters has many Security Principal accounts configured.
  • Offline RSOP Move Computer to OU feature, the OU Browser allows you to browse only the user domain not the computer domain.
  • In GPO Report, some GPO security settings defined as enabled are reported as disabled.
  • In GP Analysis Comparison report wizard, GPR Object browser does not have a scroll bar.
  • GP Analysis Diagnostics does not allow browsing trusted domains.
  • GP Repository Notification Configuration GPR Object browser does not have a scroll bar.

Note: This hotfix requires that GPA 4.0.

To install this hotfix, complete the following steps on all Group Policy Administrator (GPA) 4.0 console and server computers:

  1. Close the NetIQ GPA 4.0 Console.
  2. If this is a GPA 4.0 server computer, shutdown the GPR Server Com+ application by completing the following steps:
    1. In the Programs folder, click Administrative Tools | Component Services.
    2. Expand Component Services | Computers | My Computer | COM+ Applications.
    3. Select GPR Server in the right pane.
    4. In the Action menu, click Shutdown.
  3. Run the GPA40000_HotfixQ39875.exe file.
  4. If you shutdown the GPR Server Com+ application, start it by completing the following steps:
    1. In the Programs folder, click Administrative Tools | Component Services.
    2. Expand Component Services | Computers | My Computer | COM+ Applications.
    3. Select GPR Server in the right pane.
    4. In the Action menu, click Start.
