Unable to resolve multiple alerts if the Security Manager Monitor Console is running on Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP.

Multi-select not working for alerts in the Monitor Console.

cause

There is an issue in Microsoft Management Console (MMC) 2.0, which is bundled inside Windows Server 2003.  This issue causes certain controls in the Security Manager Monitor Console to malfunction.  For more information about this known issue, consult the Microsoft Knowledge Base at the following location:

fix

To workaround this issue, select and resolve alerts one at a time in the Monitor Console. Alternatively, you can use the Security Manager Incident Management Console (Security Manager Control Center in SM 5.6) or the Web Console interface to resolve multiple alerts.
