Resolution

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.0

symptom
Error: 'Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.' when Assistant Admins attempt to launch the Directory and Resource Administrator client interface.

symptom

All Assistant Admins receive the following error message when attempting to launch the Account and Resource Management or the Delegation and Configuration Management console:

Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

cause
This error message is a result of the ManagedContainerEnum operation not being able to support resume strings; therefore, it allocates a buffer that is big enough to hold all of the items that are returned when enumerating the tree control.  The default value for this buffer is 16MB.  Since a 2MB buffer can hold 5000 objects, this is an overkill.

fix

This problem has been identified by NetIQ and has been fixed in Service Pack 1 for Directory and Resource Administrator 7.0.

In order to resolve this error, if SP 1 is not installed, restart the NetIQ Administration Server service on the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) server.
