fact
NetIQ Group Policy Administrator 5.0

fact
NetIQ Group Policy Administrator 4.5

symptom
User selection window is skipped when running a Remote Diagnostics against a Microsoft Windows 2000 target machine.

fix
The Remote Diagnostics in NetIQ Group Policy Administrator (GPA) 4.x uses WMI to try and read the group policy information that was applied to a target machine.  The WMI interface for Microsoft Windows 2000 does not support user-specific information and hence GPA does not display the user selection window when running Remote Diagnostics against Microsoft Windows 2000 target computers. This feature is only available when running a Remote Diagnostics against a Microsoft Windows 2003 or Microsoft Windows XP target computer.

note
This is expected behavior.
