Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

How do I disable the ADMIN messages written to the Application Event Logs by the AppManager NetIQ Client Communication Manager (NetIQccm) Service?

Resolution

The AppManager Agents write events to the Application Event Logs that have NetIQccm as the Source. In order to disable this ADMIN message from being written to the Application Event Log, turn off the NetIQccm ADMIN messages:

  1. Open the Registry on the affected server.
  2. Drill down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | NetIQ | AppManager | 4.0 | NetIQccm | Admin
  3. Modify the DisableAdminEvt value to 1.
  4. Restart the NetIQccm service.

Warning: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. NetIQ cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Make sure that you backup your Registry prior to making any changes.
