The ISS RealSecure module and Configuration Wizard (previously called the Getting Started Wizard) allows you to configure monitoring one ISS SiteProtector database.  Every five minutes, the computer you defined in the Configuration Wizard as a database connector, which typically is an Event Collector, collects ISS data from the ISS SiteProtector database. An agent on the database connector monitors the collected ISS data. You can also configure Security Manager to collect ISS data from more than one ISS SiteProtector database.

To configure Security Manager to collect ISS data from more than one ISS SiteProtector database:

  1. If you want to use thesame Data Source Name (DSN), user name, and password for the ISS SiteProtector database, in the Configuration Wizard add the database connector for each ISS SiteProtector database to the appropriate computer group:
    • ISS RealSecure SiteProtector 1.X - Event Collectors Used for Database Connection
    • ISS RealSecure SiteProtector 2.0 - Event Collectors Used for Database Connection
  2. If you want to use different DSNs, user names, and passwords, complete the following steps for each additional ISS SiteProtector database you want to monitor:

  3. a. Create a computer group for the database connector that collects ISS data from the ISS SiteProtector database. Consider naming the computer group similar to one of the following computer groups:
    • ISS RealSecure SiteProtector 1.X - Event Collectors Used for Database Connection
    • ISS RealSecure SiteProtector 2.0 - Event Collectors Used for Database Connection

    b. Include the database connector in the computer group you created. Ensure there is an agent installed on the database connector.
    c. Perform a managed comptuer scan to populate the computer group.
    d. Create a processing rule group that includes a copy of the appropriate version of one of the following event processing rules:
    • ISSRealSecure - SMDBEvents Generates SiteProtector V1.X  Events
    • ISSRealSecure - SMDBEvents Generates SiteProtector V2.0  Events

    e. In the rule properties on the Responses tab, edit the script parameters so that the SQL user name, password, and DSN is set to connect to the ISS SiteProtector database.
    f. Add the computer group you created to this processing rule group.
