Error: 'Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password'.

symptom
Error occurs when Assistant Admin creates a new user.

Error occurs when Assistant Admin resets user password.

All other tasks work without problems.

cause
The issue occurs because the override account in the registry is not in the format 'DOMAIN\userid'.

fix
To resolve this issue:

1. Check the Account value in the following registry key and verify that the domain of the target object is in the format 'DOMAIN\userid':
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mission Critical Software\OnePoint\Administration\Modules\Accounts\Domains.Dns\domain_name
   
   
2. Open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) while logged into the workstation as a Built-in Admin.
3. Expand Configuration | Managed and Trusted Domains.
4. Right-click on the domain in question and select Properties.  
5. Select the Override Account tab.
6. Enter the override account in the format 'DOMAIN\userid' and then enter the password.
7. Click OK.
8. Run a Full Accounts Cache Refresh for this domain.
