symptom
When resolving multiple alerts in the monitor console, not all alerts are resolved.
cause
There is an issue in Microsoft Management Console (MMC) 2.0 which is bundled inside Windows XP. This issue causes certain controls in the Security Manager Monitor Console to malfunction. For more information on this known issue, consult the Microsoft Knowledge Base at the following location:

fix
To work around this issue, select and resolve alerts two times in the Monitor Console application.
Microsoft is supposed to be releasing a fix for this issue in an upcoming Windows XP and Windows 2003 Service Pack Release.
