symptom
Error:  'An error occurred authenticating to the VigilEnt database. Detailed explanation: cannot open database requested in login 'Vigilent'. Login fails. The VSS service pack 1 will now exit!'

cause
This error occurs when the name of the VigilEnt database is changed.  The installer and upgrade scripts are hard-coded to only recognize the database named VigilEnt.

fix
Rename the database back to VigilEnt.
