Datastream values returned as negative numbers. (NETIQKB37031)

WebSphereAppSrv and WebSphereAppSrvUNIX retrieve performance metrics from WebSphere using the perfservlet application that ships with the WebSphere product.  We have seen the perfservlet incorrectly return negative values for certain metrics.

IBM has fixed some of these issues in recent releases of the product (e.g., 5.0.1 and 5.0.2), but some issues still remain.  If you see incorrect negative values being reported, it is suggested that you update to WebSphere 5.0.2 (WebSphere 5.0, FixPack 2) to ensure that you have the latest perfservlet fixes.  Additional problems may be fixed in future FixPacks, so we also suggest that you access IBM's WebSphere support website to determine whether further fixes in this area are available.
