symptom
A job scheduled to run at exactly midnight runs, but does not display the time submitted when found in the completed task queue.

cause
Midnight is represented as 00:00:00 and this is displayed as a blank by Microsoft SQL Server.

fix
In order to see a time displayed in the 'date submitted' column in the completed task queue, a workaround is to schedule the job to start at 1 second past midnight - 00:00:01 which would show up as 12:00:01 am.
