VigilEnt Security Manager 4.1

symptom
After running Synchronize Server Users, VigilEnt Security Manager incorrectly shows Windows domain users as members of certain Windows security groups.

cause
The cause of this issue is due to an issue in the Microsoft SQL Server stored procedure responsible for updating the users to groups table in the VigilEnt database.

fix

Hotfix 36823 corrects a potential issue with VigilEnt Security Manager Version 4.1. The Auto Match and Build feature of Synch Server Users was linking users to incorrect user groups.

Notes: This hotfix must be installed over a VSM 4.1 Service Pack 1 installation.

To install this hotfix, follow these steps on the VSS computer:

  1. Log on to the computer with a local administrator account.
  2. Run the VSM41_Hotfix36823.exe.
  3. Follow the instructions until you have finished installing the hotfix.
