To enable logging for the VigilEnt Security Server:

  1. Open the VigilEnt Security Server, Configuration Utility (Start Programs VigilEntVigilEnt Security ServerConfiguration Utility).
  2. Under the Logging tab, change the following settings:
    • Log Output Level = debug (Saved)
    • Trace/Security Log File = enabled (Saved)*
  3. Go to Services and stop and restart the VigilEnt Security Server service. 
  4. Re-run the report/action. 
  5. Locate the core.log and the security.log files in the %Program Files%\Pentasafe\VSS\Log directory. 
  6. Email all log files to VigilEnt-support@netiq.com.

*Once the logs have been collected, go back and change the above values/settings back to the default ( Log Output Level=Warning and Trace/Security Log File=disabled for VSS), then restart the service.
