To enable logging for the VigilEnt Security Server:
  1. Open the VigilEnt Security Server Configuration Utility (Start ProgramsNetIQ VigilEnt Security Manager | VigilEnt Security Server | Configuration Utility).
  2. On the Logging tab, change the following settings:
    • Log Output Level = debug (Saved)
    • VSS Communication Tracing = enabled (Saved)
    • Click Apply.
  3. Go to Services and stop and restart the VigilEnt Security Server service.
  4. After all logging has been enabled, re-run the report/action.
  5. Locate the vss.log and trace.log files in the ...\Program Files\NetIQ VigilEnt Security Manager\VSS\Log directory.
  6. E-mail all log files to VigilEnt-support@netiq.com.

Once the logs have been collected, change the settings on the Logging tab back to the default (Log Output Level=Warning and VSS Communication Tracing=disabled).  Then, restart the services.
