symptom
Error: 'Microsoft JVM is not installed'.

cause

The installer verifies that Java Virtual Machine is installed by checking the following registry value: 

Key = HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Java VM

If the value is not there then it will return this error.



fix

Install the latest version of Microsoft Java Virtual Machine on the target machine.

  1. Locate the install VSA for Windows folder inside of the VigilEnt Security Manager download or CD.
  2. Navigate to VSA for Windows\Third Party\JVM.
  3. Execute the msjavx86.exe file on the target machine and reboot as directed by the install.
