Error: 'Profile XXXX contained in User Profile Exclusions. Cannot delete..'

symptom
Unable to delete a profile despite having removed it from the User Profile Exclusionlist.

cause
The User Profile Exclusion list does not update interactively.  While a profile removed from the list will not be visible, the file is not refreshed until the PSPROFILE job runs. 

fix

The PSPROFILE job must be run to refresh the User Profile Exclusion list before the profile can be deleted.  It can be scheduled to run as follows from the PPM Main Menu. 

1. Select Option 1 General Options Menu, press Enter.
   
2. Select Option 16 Change Defaults (DISABLE DELETE +), press Enter.
   
3. Press F7=Schedule UPM and schedule the PSPROFILE job to run at a time appropriate for your installation. 
   
4. Once the job runs to completion, Option 1  Work with user profiles can be used to delete the profile as normal. 

NOTE:  Be sure that you have the Default Values (PPM Menu Option 1  General Options Menu, Option 16  Change Defaults (DISABLE DELETE +) set as you want them as this job cleans up inactive profiles.   We recommend that this job be scheduled to run weekly (usually Sunday night) to assist you with archiving and ultimately deleting  (if you choose this option) unused profiles.  Be sure you have profiles you wish to keep, but may be unused, in the Exclusion list (like Q* profiles) before running the job.
