There are times when diagnostics logs are needed by NetIQ Technical Support to help in troubleshooting certain issues.  In order to enable Diagnostics logging, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log on to the 'Administration Site' by clicking Start | Programs | PentaSafe | VigilEnt Policy Center Administration tab | Options | Logging and scroll to the bottom of page.
  2. Click On where you see Diagnostics Enabled.
  3. Select High Level Diagnostics or Low Level Diagnostics for Diagnostics Level.  For purposes of troubleshooting, the logging level should be set to High, unless otherwise specified.
  4. Click Update.

In most cases, after enabling the Diagnostics logging, you will need to run though the steps to reproduce the error you are reporting to Technical Support.  Once you have reproduced these errors, you will need to send in the logging information to NetIQ Technical Support.

The diagnostics log may be found at (default location) C:\Program Files\PentaSafe\VigilEnt Policy Center\server\logs\VpcDebug.log
