Resolution

goal
Which operations support the 'Specify Domain Controller' feature in Directory and Resource Administrator?

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x

fix

In Directory and Resource Administrator 7.0 ,when performing certain tasks, Assistant Admins can select a domain controller on which the operation should be performed.  Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) 6.x performed all changes on a single domain controller.  Assistant Admins when performing the following tasks over users objects in Active Directory can now select a domain controller which is in the same site as the object:

  • Resetting a user account's password
  • Unlocking a user account
  • Enabling a user account
  • Disabling a user account

When performing any of the above operations the Assistant Admin will have the ability to enumerate a list of all domain controllers in the domain and select a single of multiple domain controller on which the operation will be performed.  The domain controller selected could be a local domain controller to avoid Active Directory replication latency issues.
