symptom
Alerts are not being received from the Service Monitoring Utility 'watchdog' when a service goes down.

cause
SMTP alerts are using a hard-coded VigilEnt address in the FROM field. 

fix

This issue is resolved in version 4.0 by allowing SMTP alerts to be sent with a valid FROM address .  This fix is available for download from the NetiQ support site at the following address:
