NetIQ GPA manages GPO's.  You can configure a GPO to manage the scheduling of the Window updates.  This can be done by performing the following:

In NetIQ GPA 3.0

  1. Launch NetIQ GPA.
  2. Expand the Administrator node.
  3. Expand the desired GPO, right-click Settings and select Launch GPO Tool.
  4. Navigate to Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates.
  5. Right-click Administrative Templates and select Add/Remove Templates...
  6. In the Add/Remove Templates window click Add, select the the template WUAU.ADM and click Open.
  7. Notice that the new template is present in the Add/Remove Templates window and click Close.
  8. Navigate to Computer Configuration | Administrative TemplatesWindows Components | Windows Update.
  9. Right click the Configure Automatic Updates setting in the right pane and choose Properties.
  10. Click Enabled and set the Configure Automatic updating to 4 - Auto download and schedule the install.
  11. Set the day of the week and desired time to run and click OK.

In NetIQ GPA 4.x and 5.0.

  1. Launch NetIQ GPA.
  2. Expand GP Explorer node.
  3. Right-click the desired GPO and select GPO Editor.
  4. Navigate to Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates.
  5. Right click Administrative Templates and select Add/RemoveTemplates...
  6. In the Add/Remove Templates window, click Add, select the the template WUAU.ADM and click Open.
  7. Notice that the new template is present in the Add/Remove Templates window and click Close.
  8. Navigate to Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Update.
