Unable to add proxied endpoints in VigilEnt Security Manager.

The following error is recorded in the core.log file:

ERROR [mk-1] VSS: Failed to register endpoint: An error occured communicating with 10.x.xx.xxx:1622
java.io.InterruptedIOException: Read timed out

cause
The cause of this issue is due to the Application Event log being full on the VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows machine monitoring the proxied endpoint machine.  When adding a proxied endpoint in VigilEnt Security Manager (VSM), an event must be successfully written to the agent machine.

fix

To resolve the above issue, clear out the Application Event log on the agent machine by following the steps below:

1. Click Start | Administrative Tools | Event Viewer.
   
2. Right-click the Application Log node in the left tree view and select Clear all Events.
   
3. You will be prompted to choose whether or not you would like to save the Application log before clearing it.
