Resolution

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 6.60

symptom
Assistant Admins can set the home directory path of a user to be \\server\Parent_share if the DontCopyonHDChange registry configuration is enabled per NETIQKB7040

cause
This is due to an issue where the DontCopyOnHDChange registry configuration per NetIQKB7040 allows Assistant Admins to set the home directory path to be\\server\Parent_share.

fix

Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator 6.60 Hotfix 33403 corrects this issue.

Hotfix 33403 ensures DRA correctly applies home directory and home share policy by automatically including the user name in the specified path. For example, if you specify the home directory path as
\\server\rootshare, DRA sets the home directory path to \\server\%username%.

If your environment meets the following criteria, apply this hotfix.

  • Uses policy to automatically delete home directories when deleting user accounts.
  • Enables the $HomeDirRename registry key. For more information, see NetIQ Knowledge Base
    Article NETIQKB7040.
  • Manages user accounts associated with home directories.

To install this hotfix, run the DRA66000_Hotfix33403.exe file on each Administration server computer.

This hotfix modifies the McsHomeShareTrigger.dll file on the Administration server computer. By default, this file is located in the NetIQ\DRA folder of the Program Files folder.
