Error: 'Unspecified SQL error' when logging into VigilEnt Security Manager

symptom
Error may occur on only one machine where the GUI is installed or others if software has been installed recently.

cause
A new ODBC System DSN was created.

cause
Recent installation of other software may cause error.

fix

MDAC must be reinstalled on the GUI machine from the VSM 3.0 CD.  To install MDAC:

  1. Insert the VSM 3.0 CD into the drive.
  2. Open the Third Party>MDAC folder.
  3. Double click MDAC_typ.exe to install.
