The Heartbeat tab provides options to monitor agent status and notify you if an agent comes online or goes offline:

  • Heartbeat Automatic Polling:  If enabled, VigilEnt Security Service or Netiq Core Services (NetIQ Vulnerability Manager 5.0) polls all agents not contacted within the time set in the Automatic Polling field.


  • Automatic Polling Interval (min):  The number of minutes between times that VigilEnt Security Service or Netiq Core Services polls an agent to see if it is online.


  • Send SNMP Trap When Agent/Endpoint Comes Online:  Set to true if you want to send an SNMP trap when an agent/endpoint comes online.


  • Send Mail When Agent/Endpoint Comes Online:  Set to true if you want to send an e-mail message when an agent/endpoint comes online.


  • Mail Recipients When Agent/Endpoint Comes Online:  Enter the recipients of the e-mail message sent when an agent/endpoint comes online.  Note:  You can enter more than one recipient, separated by commas.


  • Mail Subject When Agent/Endpoint Comes Online:  Enter the subject of the e-mail message that will be sent when an endpoint comes online.


  • Send SNMP Trap When Agent/Endpoint Goes Offline:  Set to true if you want to send an SNMP trap when an agent/endpoint goes offline.


  • Send Mail When Agent/Endpoint Goes Offline:  Set to true if you want to send an e-mail message when an agent/endpoint goes offline.
