symptom
The Key field is missing from the Configuration Utility in VigilEnt Security Manager

cause
If the key field is missing from the VigiEnt Security Manager Configuration Utility, the core.properties file has been corrupted or changed.

fix
The core.properties file is located in the :\ProgramFiles\Pentasafe\Core directory.  Open the file using Notepad as the default viewer and scroll to the bottom of the file. The last line should read the following:

"LICENSEKEY=[with a license key entered here]"


If this is not the last line, the 'License Key' thread is missing from the file. To add the License Key thread, place the cursor at the end of the document (after'MaxThreadCount=210") and type "LICENSEKEY=(insert license key here)".
