VigilEnt Security Manager
symptom
Error: 'Your core services application is not currently running.'
symptom
Error occurs when trying to log in to VigilEnt Security Manager.
cause
Two of the most common causes for this issue are as follows:
- The VigilEnt Security Manager (VSM) GUI is pointed to a machine where Core Services is not running.
- The machine that the users are logging on from has been denied access to the designated Core Services in the VigilEnt Security Manager Configuration Utility hosts.deny file.
fix
In VigilEnt Security Manager Options, make sure that the IP address for the Core Services machine is correct.
In Services on the machine where Core Services is installed, check to see if VigilEnt Core Services or VigilEnt Security Server service is running.
In the VigilEnt Security Manager Configuration Utility on the hosts.deny tab, look for the IP address of the GUI machine you are connecting from. If it exists there, remove it if you want to allow that machine to connect.
