fix

  1. Go to the application log on the machine where the VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows service is installed.

  2. Look for event ID 4097.

  3. Double-click the event and the version number is located in the Description field. Make sure you are looking at a recent event. If it is not a recent event, stopping and restarting the agent service will generate event 4097.

  4. The event will say "Starting VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows Version 3.x.x.x". If it says anything else, you are viewing the wrong event 4097.


For version 3.1 and higher, you can run the "Query Registry Value" report in VigilEnt Security Manager using the following parameters to find version information:

KEY* = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PENTASAFE
SUBKEY* = VSANT
VALUE* = AgentVersion

Alternately, the version information is stored in the registry in the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PENTASAFE\VSANT\AgentVersion
