VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows dies when running a checkup list against a group of servers.

cause
Having a machine defined improperly in VigilEnt Security Manager causes this problem. Reports run against an improperly defined machine will cause the VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows service to die.

fix

  1. Sign on to VigilEnt Security Manager verify.

  2. Under the PentaSafe Agents, expand the Servers selection.

  3. Right click the appropriate servers, and select Properties.

  4. Verify that the Operating System definition is correctly defined. It must be set to the same operating system as the machine.
