I've just installed the VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows 3.1 and now have a detect.xml file in s (NETIQKB31641)

Multiple detect.xml files appear after upgrade.

Uppgraded to VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows Detect 3.1.

cause
The VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows Detect upgrade uses a new rules engine which requires a new rule file format.  Multiple rules files are supported in Detect 3.1 and all the rule files are merged together in the merged.xml file.

fix

After the 3.1 upgrade Detect.xml files will be found in the following locations:

• Program Files\Pentasafe\NTDetect.  Detect.xml is the 3.0 rule file which does not get deleted during the 3.1 installation/upgrade.
• Program Files\Pentasafe\WINDetect\Rules.  Detect.xml is the rule file saved during the installation/upgrade in the old format.
• Program Files\Pentasafe\WINDetect\Rules\newfmt.  Detect.xml is the rule file in the new format.
