To determine the version, follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Explorer.

  2. Use the Find Files dialog box to locate the file MSJAVA.dll.

  3. Right-click the MSJAVA.dll file (the component that implements the Microsoft Virtual Machine for Java).

  4. Select Properties to bring up a property sheet where the 'Version' tab indicates the Virtual Machine version.
