ACL reports in the Report Viewer utility and VigilEnt Security Manager identify conflicts between permissions that are set for directories that are in the path to a target file and permissions of the target file itself.
For example, in the path, /export/home/userx/program.sh
, the file program.sh
may have world writable permissions, but the /export/home/userx
directory permissions may only allow root to modify and execute files in that directory. This feature allows administrators to assess who really has access to a particular file or directory.
