symptom
The Sybase agent is displayed as offline when it is actually running.

cause
VigilEnt Security Manager does not update the status of the agent.

fix

Upon start-up of the VigilEnt Security Manager Console, a Sybase Agent icon may erroneously display a database server as unavailable when in actuality it is available. The actual status of the Sybase Server can be verified by executing a heartbeat check or by performing tasks on them.


To perform a Heartbeat Check:

  1. Open the VigilEnt Security Manager console.
  2. Right-click the server in question.
  3. Click Heartbeat Check.
