Resolution

goal
What are the parameters included in the VigilEnt Security Agent for Oracle that provide for backwards compatibility?

fact
VigilEnt Password Manager for Oracle 6.x

fact
VigilEnt Security Agent for Oracle 1.x

fix
The following parameters are included in the VigilEnt Security Agent for Oracle for backwards compatibility reasons:

  • BreakinLogFile - (Parameters tab, Name of text file where breakin messages will be written.)

  • BreakinSyslogFlag - (Parameters tab, Flag indicating if breakin messages should be sent to the system console (Y/N).)

  • OS Sync Mode - ('Template' attribute)

The 'BreakinLogFile' and 'BreakinSyslogFlag' parameters allow for the break in and logfail messages to be written to a location outside the database. The e-mail notification feature can be set up to provide the same type of functions.  The 'OS Sync Mode' parameter is a password attribute found on the 'SQLCQR' template. This parameter has been deemed a security risk and was discontinued in the current version.
