fix

To start the agent:

Click Start | Programs | VSA for Netware 1.3 | Start Agent to start the connection program.

A command window opens and a message appears verifying that the program started properly. Do not close this window or the connection program will terminate. You can minimize the window to work with other applications.

note
Optional, but highly recommended. When you leave the workstation, do not log off. Logging off will terminate the connection program. Lock the workstation instead by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE and selecting Lock Computer.

note
VigilEnt Security Agent for Netware uses port 4000 for the connection program. If port 4000 is already in use by another application, you can start the connection program on a different port. To do this, do not use the shortcut in the Programs menu to start the agent. Instead, complete the following steps:

  1. Open a command window.

  2. Navigate to the VigilEnt Security Agent for Netware directory and type:

    .\startAgent.bat port

Where port is the alternate port number that you want to use.

  3. You must also specify the alternate port number when you register the agent in VigilEnt Security Manager.
