Users with blank 'Device Names' appear when running the Password and User ID Failures report in System Auditing and Reporting (SAR).

Report is also known by alternate names, from Menu Option = 'Invalid Sign-on Attempts' and report submittal window = 'Passwords Used That Are Not Valid'.
fix
The reason the Device Name is blank on the report is that the person trying to log on is going through client access, FTP. The device name is not known initially so if the attempt fails, there will not be a device name available.
