symptom
Unable to select Option 3 PSDetect in the VigilEnt iSeries main menu.

cause
The message description for message ID USR0003, message file PSMENUC, in library PSCOMMON was changed to CALL PSPARMS0.

fix

Change the message description for message ID USR0003, message file PSMENUC, in library PSCOMMON to PSCOMMON/STRMS APPL(PD) FUNCTION(PD0) TYPE(*MNU). This is the default message description.

To change the message description, please follow the steps below:

  1. Type WRKMSGF on a Command Line, and press F4 to prompt the command.

  2. In the Message File field, indicate PSMENUC.

  3. In the Library field, indicate PSCOMMON.

  4. Put 12=Work with message descriptions next to the message file.

  5. Put 2=Change next to message ID, USR0003.

  6. In the First-level message text field, indicate:

    PSCOMMON/STRMS APPL(PD) FUNCTION(PD0) TYPE(*MNU) and press enter
