ZASBS Subsystem fails nightly with an error related to ASC11.

symptom
Receiving messages related to ZASBS and ZPSSMON subsystems.

cause
The Subsystems, ZASBS and ZPSSMON, were not ended prior to back ups of the VigilEnt libraries.

fix

VigilEnt Security Agent for iSeries subsystems, such as ZASBS and ZPSSMON, should be ended prior to back ups if the NetIQ libraries are to be backed up during the process. 

To end and restart a subsystem:

  1. Open a command line on the iSeries machine.
  2. Type ENDSBS (specify subsystem to end). 
  3. To restart the subsystem after the back up, use command STRSBS (specify subsystem to start).
