cause
The CD-ROM drive for iSeries machine is *DVD-ROM, which is incompatible with PTF versions prior to 1X02267-2.

fix

The error relates to a specific type of CD-ROM reader on some iSeries machines.

To check for the media type, please follow these steps:

  1. With the CD in the drive, use command WRKOPTVOL.

  2. Select Option 5 and look for the Media Type.

  3. If the Media Type is *DVD-ROM and the CD inserted is for a Service Pack prior to 1X02267-2, upgrade the PTF to 1X02267-2 or higher.
